It's interesting that the EU's fighter jet programme is forecast for the 2040's yet one of the key elements that the UK wanted with Tempest was for it to be online much quicker than the usual timeframes, we are going for early 2030's. Which isn't that long away. First mover advantage with this sort of thing shouldn't be underestimated.
I think we all know Labour are going to pretty much parrot the AI regulations the EU have conjured up. Which just means they will strangle our opportunity to get ahead and just hand over the advantage we actually have right now to the US and China.
